MY STORY

Photographs have always been very meaningful to me. I remember having those disposable cameras when I was child – I had to always have one with me on holidays and other meaningful events. Later, when digital cameras arrived, I got one as a birthday gift and I loved to capture those daily life moments also. At that time the meaning of photographs was to capture memories.

In vocational school I studied audiovisual communications and photography was also included in those studies. I got SLR camera in my hand for the first time, and I learned how to use it

and take better pictures. That was the time when I really, really fell in love with photography. Soon I bought my own SLR camera, and I practiced every day. Photographs weren't just memories anymore – they have also become an artistic way to express myself.

I practiced portrait photography with my friends, and soon my photographs had become very popular. I remember this one situation, when I was at the restaurant with my friends and some girl that I didn't know came to compliment my photos that she had seen on internet. I was very pleased and a little confused.

I decided to study photography even more and I applied to photography school where one can graduate as a professional photographer. That was my dream and I had done some commercial photography as a light entrepreneur using Eezy billing services. I had gathered enough confidence to start a real photography business when I was soon to graduate.

For a while I lived my dream. I had my own studio and there were continuously new photoshoots booked. I loved photography so much that it was all I wanted to do. Unfortunately, it led to a situation where I had mixed up my free time and working time and I never took a day off. I didn't see it at the time. Instead, I felt that I wasn't good enough and I needed to practice more and study more to be able to take better photographs. I think you can guess the rest of the story.

After that I needed a little break and a few years passed without photography. I applied to study a new profession and spent a lot of time trying to figure out who I am if I am not a photographer. I learned a lot about being gentle to myself, I mentally growth a lot and I learned the importance of rest.

Nowadays I enjoy photography as a hobby. I have found the joy of capturing moments again and most of my photos are only published in my personal diaries – as memories. Every now and then I get inspired to do some artistic photoshoots, and the best thing is that I don't have to succeed with every idea, and it doesn't matter if I am the only person who likes those photos.
